Léo Fourn

Associate Researcher

Léo Fourn is currently a temporary teaching and research assistant at Sciences Po Aix. Before his PhD, he studied political sciences at Sciences Po Rennes and Sciences Po Aix, and Arabic at IFPO in Damascus and Beirut. He holds a PhD in sociology from Aix-Marseille University. His thesis focused on the trajectories of ordinary Syrians who participated in the 2011 uprising, before seeking refuge in Lebanon and France. His research is situated at the crossroad between migration studies and social movement studies. In his current research, he continues to study the mobilisation of Syrians abroad, focusing on the transnational production of archives about the Syrian conflict. Within the LIVE-AR project, he will explore the trajectories of Moroccans, Tunisians, Egyptians and Syrians who migrated after their participation in the 2011 uprisings. His fieldwork will be conducted in France, Germany and Turkey.
