Nouran Gad

Associate researcher

Nouran Gad is a PhD student in political science at Mesopolhis / Science Po Aix. Her thesis, under the supervision of Elise Massicard and Stéphane Lacroix, focuses on the path of Arab political exiles in Istanbul. Since 2011, Turkey has become a place of refuge for millions of Arabic speakers. It focuses specifically on the biographical shifts of these people due to their involvement in the popular uprisings of 2011 – and other subsequent mobilizations – and their relationship to politics in exile. She is an associate researcher and former mobility grant holder at the IFEA (French Institute for Anatolian Studies). She co-coordinates the activities of the aMiMo axis « Migrations and Mobilities » of the Institute. She is also a member of the training pole of Noria Research, as well as a member of the Gis MOMM young researchers’ office.
